My name is John Hancock, and I'm a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Hancock Knives began in 2016 with little more than a few old files, a blowtorch, an angle grinder, and a determination to build something of my own. What started as a passion for making knives has grown into a family-operated business dedicated to creating dependable tools that are meant to be used and carried every day.
Over the years, that journey has taken us from hand-forged customs to CAD design, CNC manufacturing, and production models that allow more people to experience our work. While our capabilities have grown, our approach remains the same: build quality tools with attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship.
Custom knife making is still at the heart of what I do, and I continue to enjoy creating one-of-a-kind pieces whenever time allows. If you're interested in custom work, I invite you to browse our gallery for inspiration and follow along with what we're building at Instagram @hancockknives.
Whether you're here for a custom knife, a production model, or simply to learn more about what we do, we're grateful you've stopped by.

Hancock Knives is more than a knife company—it's a family endeavor. From long days in the shop and late nights preparing orders to weekends spent on the road at knife shows, building this business has become a shared pursuit. Every knife that leaves our shop represents the combined effort of a family dedicated to creating tools we're proud to stand behind.
We're honored to be part of such a passionate community of makers, collectors, and everyday users, and we're grateful for the support that allows us to keep doing what we love.
