My name is John Hancock, and I'm a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Hancock Knives began in 2016 with little more than a few old files, a blowtorch, an angle grinder, and a determination to build something of my own. What started as a passion for making knives has grown into a family-operated business dedicated to creating dependable tools, including Arkansas made knives and Texas made knives, that are meant to be used and carried every day.
Over the years, that journey has taken us from hand-forged customs to CAD design, CNC manufacturing, and production models that allow more people to experience our work, including those interested in Chicago made knives and New York made knives. While our capabilities have grown, our approach remains the same: build quality tools with attention to detail and a commitment to craftsmanship.
Custom knife making is still at the heart of what I do, and I continue to enjoy creating one-of-a-kind pieces whenever time allows. If you're interested in custom work from skilled custom knife makers in Texas, I invite you to browse our gallery for inspiration and follow along with what we're building on Instagram @hancockknives.
Whether you're here for a custom knife, a production model, or simply to learn more about what we do, we're grateful you've stopped by.

Hancock Knives is more than just a knife company—it's a family endeavor. From long days in the shop and late nights preparing orders to weekends spent on the road at knife shows, building this business has become a shared pursuit. Every knife that leaves our shop, whether it's an Arkansas made knife or a Texas made knife, represents the combined effort of a family dedicated to creating tools we're proud to stand behind. We're also excited to connect with fellow custom knife makers in Texas, as well as enthusiasts of Chicago made knives and New York made knives. We're honored to be part of such a passionate community of makers, collectors, and everyday users, and we're grateful for the support that allows us to keep doing what we love.
